Romeo and Juliet Essays, A Message from Mr Waugh

Students and teachers and students collaborate.

Now that everyone has started writing their essays, it is time for some direct feedback. I have made the undertaking that I will give detailed feedback to every student at least once BEFORE the deadline next Friday. This will allow you to take on board the advice when it matters. After that, I will simply give the piece its level, as the feedback will already be in place.

As part of this open essay process, where most of your work is on blogs and you are able to discuss your essay’s development with me – I encourage you to also seek the feedback of others. How about speaking to a parent, another teacher or one of your peers and inviting them to give you feedback on your essay as well? If they write their feedback as a comment on your journal, it will mean that I can keep an eye out to ensure no-one is ‘over-helping’ you, and you may benefit from a wider range of input and thoughts.

Whatever you choose, the open or the private process – best wishes for this week’s work. I look forward to working alongside you.
